Location of the Casa do Girassol

Our private holiday apartment „Casa do Girassol“ is in the holiday village of Quinta Velha close to the old fishing village of Cabanas and about 6km (3.7miles) east of Tavira.

Faro airport is only 40km (24.8 miles) away.  

The Atlantic is a 10 minutes walk from the Casa do Girassol. There is a supermarket and several other shops including a bakery and butcher within a few minutes walk.  

Every morning there is a market in Cabanas, which provides you with anything from fresh vegetables, fruit, honey and other local produce.

There is a bank in the village of Cabanas and a cash machine opposite the holiday village parking lot.     

The sandy beaches of the unspoiled Cabanas Island (Ilha de Cabanas) are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, playing, walking and relaxing.
Just get into the water taxi and you are already on the beautiful beach of The Ilha da Cabanas, the offshore island that separates the lagoon landscape of the Ria Formosa (which is as far as Faro) from the open sea.
The fine light sand invites you to beach walks and shell searches, to play, sunbathe and relax. Even in high season the beach is not crowded!
There is the possibility to rent a lounger under a bast umbrella or bring your own umbrella. In two beach bars you can enjoy small snacks, ice cream, coffee specialities or even a gin tonic.

You can also observe many rare bird species - nature is protected here.
 

The Benamor Benamor golf course, is 1km (0.62miles) away from our holiday apartment. 

The nearest train station is within 10 minutes walk from the apartment in the village of Conceicao. The trains have connections to Tavira, Olhao and Faro.
